Registering to the site
1. You may register to the site by visiting this link and filling up the registration form.2. In the registration form you need to choose your username and password for the website. Note that you need to enter the password twice, to make sure you have entered the password correctly.
3. You also need to enter a valid email-id. For example if you have a hotmail or gmail or rediffmail accounts, you may enter it into the email-id field in the registration form.
4. After entering all the fields, click on Create new Account button. This will create your account and send validation mail to the email account using which you have registered and will log you into the site. Note that you will not have full access to the site until you validate your email. This can be done by following the instructions in your email.
5. If you haven't got the validation mail within 24 hours, you may try to resend the validation mail by going to Edit Profile page your dashboard.
Creating a Blog
1. Once you have registered to the portal, you may share your thoughts with other members of the community by posting blog entries.
2. To create a blog entry click on Blogs in the primary navigation menu and click on New Blog Entry from the secondary navigation menu. Alternatively you may go to your dashboard and click on My Blog and then Post a new blog entry
3. You can then start writing your blog by giving a title and body to your blog entry. 4. Optionally you may embed youtube/google videos to your blog by pasting the embed code or the url of the video in the Embed Google/Youtube video field. 5. You may show your blog in various groups you are subscribed to by clicking the checkboxes besite the groups.
Posting in Hindi
1. By default hindi typing is enabled on the site through transliteration. This means you type hindi words in english and the letters show up in hindi. To know more about Transliteration go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transliteration . if you are having trouble finding typing hindi words in english go to http://www.shabdkosh.com/ which provides English to Hindi Dictionary as well as a Hindi to English Dictionary along with their transliteration.2. To toggle between hindi and english press "F12" on your key board.
3. To switch off hindi typing, go to Edit Profile and uncheck the Unisaraswati Transliterator under block configuration.
Groups
1. To join or subscribe to a group go to the Groups page in the navigation menu and click on subscribe on the group in which you want to join.2. Some groups need administrators approval before you start posting in the group.
3. In the group you may post your thoughts by posting a blog entry or by creating a forum topic in the group's forum.
